Our project is a short film. What we have planned is a action thriller piece. Its going to be about an individual who had just been divorced. He is under a lot of pressure and needs money for child support. One day he ease drops on a conversation and learns about about a drug deal. He decides to steal the money to pay off his debts and wants to give the money to his family. He fights the dealer and steals the money. 

Our audience is ranged from 16+. We want to create and plant content which is suitable for them.

Software: The software we are going to use is premiere pro. This is because it has many different features from final cut pro. Many members have never used premiere so its new and we can experiment with it.

When filming for this project we decided to visit many locations to film.  One of these places was an alleyway. We also travelled to a forest and  a classroom.                      




For the beginning scene for the title we decided not to add background noise. We instead added only background music. As the music slowly gets loud the title hits the screen.

Equipment: Canon 700d
Software: Premiere pro








Alleyway: In the alleyway there were lots of different noises from cars driving by and machinery being used. My group and i decided to use the noises that were being made in the background. We mixed it with the background music as well.
Equipment: Canoon 700d (We used the microphone on the camera for the sound)

The next scene was in a forest. When the stranger was falling off the tree we as a group decided to keep the audio of the shoes scraping against the bark. A crew member decided to add a swoosh effect as the camera zoomed on to the character.

(1.07)We started off this shot with the background noise being loud with no music. The noise of leaves being stepped on was on set and the noise of birds was in the background was  by coincidence there. The noise of the thud was added and no music was being played. From 1.17 to 1.22 was an audio effect. Another effect was placed at 1.28 as the camera was moving. This was done to show a speed up effect.


From 1.30 to 1.46 intense music was being played. It then stopped as the main character started to run away. 1.50-1.58.








When we where recording for the scene after the drug deal. We filmed a scene where the character was in a phone box. We decided that it would be best if we did not use the Shotgun mic. We later realised that the positioning of camera didn't record the sound. So the protagonist recorded his voice and i added it in. There was no background music playing.







Music slowly was being played during the establishing shot of the warehouse.

At 2.40 a thriller type music plays and it goes on until the next scene. It then dies down.







On 4.07-4.08 the camera goes fast and audio effect we used was a swoosh we previously used.

In the final scene we combined background noise of the gun being reloaded (with the echo) and the music that was being played. Then the we inserted a small audio clip of a heartbeat for effect. We added the noise of a door opening.





There was a mixture of sounds. The echo from the footsteps, Extra noises from falling and slight noise of breathing. Another thing we done was adding sound effects of bullets firing. For the last scene we decided to cut to a black screen. 4.45 The final shot was taken after the black out and the heartbeat stops. The music in the background carries on. The effect we created left the audience to use their imagination to know what the final outcome was.

The story starts off as the protagonist is careless as he feels the world going against him. He strolls as he walks and is lazy. He is almost homeless. He is full of depression. The song seems sad and the lyrics show what the character is like and what he is going through. It can also reflect what the character is thinking and his emotions.

In the story there is a scene where the protagonist overhears a conversation between two gangsters and the character feels he plays a bigger role. He also feels as if his life has a purpose and he could use this to his own agenda. The music video that I have chosen sounds as if it's in the action/thriller genre. It has a action base to it and it has a mysterious suspense to it as well.  beginning

This soundtrack has an epic and adventure like theme. This song is good when there is an action scene. For example there is a running scene when the protagonist  escaping the mobsters. When he attacks them.

Sound effects: Some of the effects that are going to be used are gun shots    (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_GGtRi1VRo) this is best for the shoot out  fight scene. The gun shots are loud and there is more than one shot going off. With music in the background and gun shots going off can work and would work together.

In dark night rises trailer  the music has an effect on the mood with key note being played slowly.  The image and sound have a contrast around 0:39. With slow mystery like music which sounds calm has fighting and violence on screen.

On screen(0:45) small clips of bridges blowing up start and the music changes tune with  another instrument. Around 1:08 the music begins to become louder and less calm. Writing hits the screen saying “hope is lost” it helps the audience understand what's going on.

A violin instrument has a more high pitched fast sound and is played. The images then shows panic explosions and an image of Bane then  cat woman appears  with batman’s motorbike.

All of a sudden music becomes more loud and intense around 1:32 scenes of fighting , love and explosions begin quickly showing. Then at 2:06 the screen shows “The dark night rises” music then changes and stops. Batman and cat woman have a dialogue and batman controls his vehicle.  Release date shows and it ends.

In the walking dead episode 16 season 6. It starts off with slow music and noises of a faint whistle blow by. The audience can hear breathing. However on screen if shows a wall with holes which shows sunlight. A very interesting thing was the camera moving and showing a characters point of view. They add certain effects by editing camera footage.  The opening title begins showing previous locations on the TVs show referencing characters by showing certain locations from previous episodes. Towards the end of the opening the name of the show is faint and and the music goes high and drops. Throughout the episode music has been played on a low level. When something happens then the music changes and goes a little louder. Towards the end of the episode the characters are all lined up and music dies as the new character says his dialogue. He mentions how one of them dies and the music has a low mending sound.  It's a electric guitar. As the character says “iny Miny moe” the music pushes up and a thriller tense is building up. The sound of blood bursting and crushing becomes loud as the screen becomes black. The screams become faint and leaves the viewer thinking who will die. This effect is really good between sound and picture. It is good with audience a with creating suspense and action. 

The late show with  Stephen Colbat is a mixture of two shows. When two tv presenters go on the same show because of the same reasons. The sound of the audience laughing makes the audience at home laugh because it tells the audience when to laugh. The imagery is a background of a city and the audio is from the presenter and the guest on the show. Music is played in the beginning  and end. The audio is focused mainly on the presenters.

The begging starts off with the opening title in gold and then a sound comes in as the title reveals it self.  The sound in the background is vocal with an echo as the narrator narrates. (0.15) (0.11-0.22) images change. And onwards the pictures change and they are related to the narrator's words. (2.44) When ethiopia is mentioned pictures of old castles are shown relating to the the time of abbasinya.Towards the end around (24.21) the music changes but it still vocal and the narrations ends. Words hit the screen and the video goes black as the audio slowly dies down. 

One punch man is a Japanese animation. Which combines audio and imagery to help the audience understand the plot. The trailer starts off with a character swearing with an image of an eye. The audience can tell something intense is going to happen. At (0.8) the  words " original story concept one " comes up. This shows the audience a bit about the program. The next image shows the protagonist beating up an enormous creature. The narration cries out "how did u get so strong". 0.13 it cuts to black screen. The image of the protagonist is shown and the music starts and the protagonist replies "so you wana know to". The scene changes and the company is shown "mad house". The protagonist the says "I am" at (0.20) and the images of beasts are shown. The protagonist than says " just a guy who's a hero for fun" and the music goes higher. In the background is an image of a different foe for the protagonist. (0.25) The image of a woman who's red smiles showing the audience some bad characters are in the program. (0.28) shows the Earth in the distance as a meteorite heads in Earth's direction. (0.29) Writing slowly unveils it self with the caption " one of the best selling manga in 2015 ". Then the protagonist is shown briefly. The next scene then shows writing saying "is know animated" telling the audience the manga is now a anime. (0.34) The music changes and battle scenes are shown. ( 0.42) then shows the title of the anime and the music goes higher as the track changes. Towards the end of the video writing then tells the audience to subscribe to a channel to see more content.  Then the screen goes black.
